GENERAL AGENDA POINTS :

1.       Punctuality to school with proper uniform.

2.       Use of student diary for the information passed on, by the subject/class teachers to the parent.

3.       To Instruct the ward not to leave the classes during normal teaching.

4.       Parents should be instructed to visit the vidyalaya between 12 noon and 1 pm during workdays for any official work.

5.       Parents should get children education allowance form or APSRTC form counter signed by the principal through the student and class teacher. No need to pay visit for such purposes.

6.       Visiting time to meet the teachers every Monday and Friday 2:40 pm to 3:10 pm (VI-XII) every Saturday 2:40 pm- 3-10 pm (Primary )

The following agendum points were discussed in the Executive Committee Meeting of the Parent Teacher Association on 23-01-09.

  1. Welcome by the Principal.
  2. The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed.
  3.  The parent members suggested that, some revision tests may be conducted for the students of secondary classes before the final exams in the month of March 2009. The principal assured the members that he will look into the matter and do the needful.
  4. The members wanted that the syllabus must be completed by the middle of February. Keeping the difficulties in mind, the Principal assured the members that the syllabus will be completed by 20th of February. n the functioning of the Vidyalaya was explained to members of the Execuitve.
  5. Agenda for the PTA General Body meeting was placed before the EC.
  6. Academic matters and activities in the Vidyalaya were discussed.

The following agendum points were discussed in the Executive Committee Meeting of the Parent Teacher Association on 29-08-09.

  1. The Principal extended warm welcome to the members of the PTA Executive Body.
  2. Mrs. Madhurima Chaterji was nominated to PTA Executive Body to fill the vacancy created by Mrs. A Padma, who withdrew the admission of her son from the Vidyalaya. The new member Mrs. Madhurima Chaterji was introduced to the other members.
  3. The Principal presented a report of the various projects undertaken in the Vidyalaya such as concrete road inside the campus, garden infront of the main gate, drainage system at the main gate, fixation of metal grill for the windows on the ground side, renovation of the toilets, construction of additional rooms and the termite treatment for the building. Money was deposited with MES for the construction of additional rooms and work is expected to be completed by May 2010.
  4. The Vidyalaya received Academic Excellence certificate from the Commissioner.
  5. The Vidyalaya is one among the ten KVs selected by KVS for school accreditation standard with the help of Quality Council of India. QCI will help the Vidyalaya in obtaining the accreditation from NABET. (The National Accreditation Board for Education and Training)
  6. The members were informed about CBSE’s plans to introduce optional examination for class X from the session 2010-11. CBSE is in the process of finalizing the details regarding conduct of optional Board Examination for class X from 2010-11.
  7. The Vidyalaya proposes to start additional section in class XI in Commerce Stream from the academic session 2010-11. The VMC in its meeting held on 10-08-09 approved the plan to start Commerce stream.
  8. The PTA Executive Body approved conduct of advocacy programme for parents, and students on NAEP.
  9. The academic activities / matters were discussed.
  10. It was decided to send a request to NSB administration to keep the gate on the back side (Coast Guard staff quarters side) open in the morning and in the afternoon for children to come to the school and go home.
  11. The Secretary Lt. Cdr. K N Naidu proposed that a talk on current affairs /General Knowledge may be introduced in the morning assembly for two minutes. This may be done in the form of question answers or information, atleast once in 15 days.

The following agendum points were discussed in the Executive Committee Meeting of the Parent Teacher Association on 13-01-11.

1.      The Principal extended warm welcome to the members of the PTA Executive Body.

2.      The members of the PTA executive body were introduced to each other, as they are meeting for the first time.

3.      The office bearers were elected unopposed. The executive body is as follows.

President: The Principal is the ex-officio President of the PTA Executive Body

4.      The following points were discussed under academic activities and achievements.

i) The first pre-board examination for class XII was over and the results are encouraging. The pass% is 75. The second pre-board examination is going on. Some of the students of class X have opted for Board exam and a pre- board exam will be conducted for all the students from 7-2-11.

ii)      Comprehensive Evaluation is being implemented from classes III to X from the academic year 2010-11. All the teachers have been trained in effective implementation of CCE.

iii)    Workshop on parenting was conducted by Dr. M V R Raju, department of Psychology, Andhra University.

Achievements of students during the academic year from April 2010.

i.        Two students from class X and two students from class XII have secured cash awards of Rs. 5000/- each from KVS for their performance in 2010 Board examination.

ii.      The number of medals secured by the students in KVS Regional Meet is 70 and in the National Meet the number is 8.

iii.                20 students of class XII have cleared the NDA exam and have been selected for SSB.

iv.    The Science project “Robo Vehicle”, prepared by Master Saurabh Kumar and group was selected for NCERT National exhibition.

5.      The Vidyalaya submitted application for Accreditation for Quality School Governance through NABET, Quality Council of India. Mr. A S Chandrashekaran, QCI advisor visited the Vidyalaya on 4-1-11 to assess whether the Vidyalaya is ready or not. The Vidyalaya is expected to be accredited within another 3 months.

6.      The construction work in the Vidyalaya was complete and the additional rooms are ready to be handed over to us by MES.

7.      The members discussed the role of teachers and the parents in providing counseling to the students for their welfare. The members felt that the discipline is one of the areas which need urgent attention.

8.      The members were informed that, one parent representative was appointed for each class, who will act as a link between parents and Teachers, Parents and PTA executive Committee and parents and Principal.

9.      The members expressed their opinion about ongoing academic activities in the Vidyalaya. It was agreed upon to call the expert parents to deliver lecture in the school on various issues depending upon their interest.

The following agendum points were discussed in the Executive Committee Meeting of the Parent Teacher Association on 08-08-11.

1.      The Principal extended warm welcome to the members of the PTA Executive Body.

2.      The minutes of the previous meeting were distributed to the members and it was agreed upon that there are no pending issues.

3.      The following points were discussed under academic activities and achievements.

i)              The Vidyalaya secured excellent results in class X as well as class XII. There is an improvement in P I in class XII and CGPA in class X.

ii)             Commerce section was started from 1st April 2011. There are 26 admissions into commerce stream.

iii)            First round of unit tests are over and the remedial classes have been started for class XII.

iv)            The Vidyalaya was selected for organizing the Regional Science Exhibition in the month of September.

v)             PTA meetings for the parents of class XII, I and II were completed.

vi)            Contractual Teachers have been appointed to fill 11 vacancies in the Vidyalaya.

vii)           Career workshop was conducted in a grand manner with Chartered Accountants. Mr. Sudheer Kumar and his associates spoke to the students of classes IX & X. The response of the students was very good.

viii)          First round of Formative Assessment was completed.

4.      The members of the PTA were informed that the feedback of the stake holders is being collected on regular basis and a grievance redressal mechanism was developed.

5.      The members were informed about some of the indiscipline students in the school. The PTA secretary Mr. Anil Kumar offered to provide counseling to one such student Master Vijesh. It will be taken up in the third week of August.

6.      It was decided by the members that a seminar may be conducted by eminent Psychologist for the benefit of the students of classes IX to XI. This will be taken up in the last week of August.

7.      It was also decided that a seminar by eminent lawyer may be conducted for the benefit of the senior students.

8.      The Secretary, PTA raised the issue of arranging identity cards for the students. After deliberations, it was agreed upon that there is no need of identity cards for all the students, as all the children belonging to Navy families have identity cards. It was decided to see the possibility of issuing identity cards to only the children other category I.

9.      The members felt the need for improvement in spoken English of the students. The Secretary requested the Principal for some concrete steps to improve the spoken English.

10.  The Secretary also requested the Principal to see the possibility of starting NCC in the school. The Principal assured the members that efforts will be made to start the NCC unit in the school.

11.  The parent members appreciated the efforts of the conservancy staff in the Vidyalaya for maintaining the toilets neat and clean.

12.  The parent member Mrs. Vibhavari Pandey expressed the need for more stress on SUPW activities in the school. The Principal assured the members that efforts will be made to take up some useful activities under work experience subject.

13.  The meeting ended with vote of thanks proposed by the Secretary.

The following agendum points were discussed in the General Body Meeting of the Parent Teacher Association on 17-12-11 at 16-45 hours.

The Secretary, PTA Shri. Anil Kumar inaugurated the CMP exhibition and the Chairman, PTA Shri. Seetha Ramaiah Meda inaugurated the ART exhibition at 16-55 hours. The members of the staff and the some parents were present on the occasion. The PTA general Body meeting started at 17-00 hours.

1.      The Secretary extended warm welcome to the members of the PTA General Body. In his welcome address the Secretary Shri. Anil Kumar briefed members about the activities undertaken by the Executive Body for the last one and half years. He requested the parents to play a proactive role and understand their children’s abilities before setting the goals. 

2.      The Chairman, PTA and the Principal in his address informed the Parents about the various steps taken to bring a paradigm shift in the functioning of the Vidyalaya.

i.        The members of the PTA were informed that the Vidyalaya got Accreditation from National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET) for Quality School Governance. The members were informed about NABET and the process of Accreditation and about the advantages of getting Accreditation.

ii.      The PTA members were given the details of the infrastructure created such as disabled friendly toilets, full-fledged medical room and other safety measures taken by the school in the process of getting accreditation.

3.      The members were informed about the various academic activities that are taking place in the school:

a)      The First Pre-Board examination for class XII was completed. The result is expected by 21-12-11. The Half Yearly examination for class XI was also completed. The progress report cards will be distributed in the first week of January 2012.

b)      Inter-House sports meet is going on and the Annual Sports Day will be organized in the first week of January 2012.

c)      The Silver Jubilee was celebrated on 30-11-2011. The Souvenir was released by the Chief Guest, Rear Admiral K R Nair, Admiral Superintendent, Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam.

d)      KVS Foundation was celebrated on Dec. 15th.

e)      Study camp is being conducted from 23-12-11 from 8-00am to 3-00pm for all the low achievers of classes X & XII. Refreshments are being provided at the rate of Rs. 15/- per head per day for all the children attending the study camp.

4.      The Principal listed out the expectations from the parents in improving the performance of their wards:

i)                    The parents were informed that the complaint handling register is available in the Vidyalaya and the parents may utilize it to get better services from the school.

ii)                  The members of the PTA were requested to utilize the feedback Redressal system and complaint handling mechanism effectively to improve the academic atmosphere in the school.

iii)                The parents were asked to play a major role in shaping their children’s future. They are requested to come to school whenever called and take every opportunity to speak to the teachers to discuss the performance of their wards.

iv)                The parents of children of class XI & XII were asked not to pressurize the children for better performance and support them in improving the performance.

v)                  The parents were also requested to keep a watch on the time table for the tests and examinations and insist on their children to show the answer papers to them. In case the children do not show the answer papers in some or the other pretext, they may come to the school to see the answer papers.

5.      The parents were requested to come forward to serve the PTA executive body.as the present Executive Body is expiring by the end of this academic session.

6.      The parents were informed that the Vidyalaya has identified Class Representatives to help the parents reach out to the Principal and the PTA Executive Body. The list of the Class Representatives was read out to the parents.

7.      The parents were informed about the academic and sports achievements of the students. During the last one year.

8.      The parents were requested to visit the exhibition of the work done by the students under CMP, SUPW and ART departments.

9.      Question-Answer session: The parents were given an opportunity to interact with the PTA Executive Body and the Principal to suggest the ways and means of improving the performance of the Vidyalaya

Question I: One of the parents raised the issue of Hindi Teaching in the Vidyalaya. According to him there is need to improve the quality of teaching of Hindi. The Teachers must check what the children are writing and guide them properly.

Answer: The Principal assured the parents to look into the matter and sort out the problem.

Question II: The second issue raised by the parents is the boys wearing the pants below the waist and the girls wearing the belt below the waist.

Answer: The Principal requested the parents to take care of the dress issue as the dress is purchased by them and they have to see that the children wear it properly. It was assured that in future any child not wearing the dress properly will be punished strictly by the school.

Question III: One of the parents requested that the answer papers after every test may be shown to the parents.

Answer: It was brought to the notice of the parents that the answer papers are shown to the parents after every test. Due to mis-communication the answer papers of FA I were not shown to the parents but every time the papers are shown to the parents. It may happen that the children may not show the papers to parents in case they get less-marks. The parents were asked to come to the school to see the papers whenever they get time.
